We got the first working version of PyPIV, using Traits UI from Enthought. Please, note this date in your calendars 
For this (not yet fully debugged ) version, drop us a line on urapiv@gmail.com and we’d be happy to e-mail it to you. The whole thing is very, very simple:
1. Download Enthought Python Distribution (EPD, currently in beta version) from here http://www.enthought.com/products/epd.php
2. get our PyPIV_Traits_v0001.py file and demo images
3. Double-click the file and it simply WORKS.
Note that EPD will almost fully replace all your needs from Matlab ™ (by Mathworks Inc.) That’s what we are planning to do - porting all the recent developments of URAPIV (http://matlabpiv.sf.net) to Python/Scipy/NumPy/Matplotlib/Traits UI
